In our eyes, moms are some of the best people on the planet. Our team wouldn’t be where we are today without the unwavering support, and inspiration, that our moms provided. Which is why we’re big believers in really pampering our moms on Mother’s Day. We asked a few members of the UMA team to share how they’ll be treating their moms on that special day. These unique ways of celebrating, from aromatherapy gifts to showing mom a new dog trick, are inspired by our moms’ special tastes. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

My mom is a globetrotter, so this year she’ll actually be in Europe for Mother’s Day! I flew up to visit her a weekend early, and spent several days catching up, being silly, and—of course—shopping together. Much of our time was spent debating the merits and drawbacks of the Celine belt bag—which we both love. Though I’d love to get that for her as a gift, this year I’ll be keeping it a bit more low key: when she arrives home from Europe, she’ll find a package including these Diptyque candles and our Pure Bliss wellness oil. My mom has been a devoted yoga practitioner for 20 years, and I know she’ll love how soothed and bright-eyed she’ll feel throughout her sessions with these scents in the background.

My younger brothers and I always spent Mother’s Day trying to give my mom the most relaxing and enjoyable day possible. Typically, we’d make her breakfast in bed, pick her some flowers from her garden and spend the day hiking, cooking and reminiscing. She lives in Minneapolis, so I won’t be able to be with her on the actual day, but I did get to spend some quality time with her when I visited last weekend. We got the chance to catch up, go to yoga and cook breakfast together (some of our favorite activities). My mom is also extremely busy, so I sent her a spa-inspired gift that should encourage her to take some time to relax (I can’t share too much more since she loves to read our blog!).

My parents live in India, where Mother’s Day isn’t as well known as it is here in the States. However, I am undeterred by the distance and still love to celebrate the holiday. I have a Skype call scheduled with my mom and my husband where we will be unveiling a new trick that we’ve taught our new adopted dog, Cookie Dough, (my mother loves his antics!). She also enjoys the Le Labo Rose 31 soaps so I sent a box of those her way. But I know video chatting with Cookie Dough will be the thing she’ll love most!
