Marma points
Marma points are an integral part of Ayurvedic healing, a traditional form of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Marma points are specific areas on the body where two or more types of tissue meet, such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints. These points are believed to be connected to the flow of energy throughout the body and can be used for therapeutic massage treatments.
Marma point therapy is used to help balance the body’s energy and promote overall health and wellbeing. It is said to help reduce stress and tension, improve circulation, relieve pain and inflammation, boost immunity and enhance mental clarity. The practice involves pressing on specific marma points with gentle pressure for a few minutes at a time to stimulate energy flow throughout the body.
The practice of marma point therapy has been studied extensively in recent years and there is evidence that it can have beneficial effects on physical health as well as emotional wellbeing. Studies have shown that marma point therapy can reduce anxiety levels and improve sleep quality. It has also been found to be effective in relieving pain associated with conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia.
