Why We Love
Nadi Swedana
Nadi Swedana is an Ayurvedic treatment that combines the application of localized herbal steam and massage with medicated herbal oil to target specific areas of the body. It is a form of Bashpa Sweda, or providing sweating, which helps to reduce pain and improve circulation. The treatment involves using a special instrument known as Nadi Sweda, which passes steam over the body part in order to induce sweating. This process helps to loosen stiff muscles and ease local pain.
The herbs used in this treatment are chosen based on the individual’s needs, and can include such ingredients as turmeric, ginger, neem leaves, and other medicinal herbs. The steam is then passed through a tube into the area being treated. This helps to open up the pores of the skin and allow for deeper penetration of the herbs into the body. Afterward, a massage with medicated oil is performed in order to further increase circulation and reduce inflammation.
Nadi Swedana has been used for centuries as an effective way to treat various ailments such as arthritis, muscle stiffness, joint pain, and other chronic conditions. It can also be used as a preventative measure to maintain good health by increasing circulation throughout the body and promoting relaxation.
