Why We Love

Rajas is one of the three gunas, or qualities of nature, in Ayurveda. It translates as “passion” and it sparks thoughts along the lines of “I am doing.” From this fiery quality, the performance of fuel-driven activities such as ambition, competition, and action arise. Rajas is associated with movement and energy, which can be seen in its positive (+) qualities such as enthusiasm and creativity. However, when out of balance, rajas can lead to restlessness, agitation and impulsiveness.

In terms of health, rajas is responsible for maintenance and nurturing of what has been created. When out of balance it can lead to an overactive mind that creates stress and anxiety.
