Why We Love

Tarpana

Tarpana is an ancient Hindu ritual of offering arghya (an offering) to devas and Navagrahas. It is typically done when mulamantra is recited as japa. Tarpana has many benefits, both spiritual and physical. On a spiritual level, it helps to acknowledge the debt one has to devas, rishis, and ancestors for their guidance and blessings. On a physical level, it can help improve eyesight by cooling, lubricating, and revitalizing the eyes through Netra Tarpana treatment.

Netra Tarpana involves using herbal infused ghee which is placed over the eyes for a specific period of time. This treatment helps to clean even the smallest channels associated with inner and outer vision. A clinical study has also found that Akshi Tarpana with Jeevantyadi Ghrita can be beneficial in treating myopia of -6 D or higher.

In addition to Netra Tarpana, tarpana also includes powdered wheat soaked in water which is used in Ayurvedic treatments. This form of tarpana helps to nourish the body and promote overall health and wellbeing.
