We at UMA, for instance, embrace the use of hand-blown glass packaging for our beloved hair oil, body oil, face serums, and candles. Our brand aims to provide you with a truly indulgent experience while being mindful of the environment.

THE ESSENCE OF AYURVEDIC BEAUTY:

Ayurveda, an ancient holistic healing system originating from India, emphasizes the balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Ayurvedic beauty practices transcend superficial treatments, prioritizing the nourishment of the skin through the use of natural and botanical ingredients. UMA harnesses the potency of Ayurvedic elements sourced from the lush meadows of India, providing skincare products that naturally nurture and nourish the skin.

ETHICAL PRACTICES AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Another key aspect of our brand is our commitment to ethical practices. The intricate flower-and-herb design that adorns our jars and cartons was sketched by Bhoomika Upadhyay, an artist and fashion designer, who was inspired by the flowers and herbs found in UMA meadows in India. The design was then executed by a Spanish design firm, with the motif screen-printed on the glass and external packaging. We also collaborate with local communities and artisans, empowering them through fair wages and providing sustainable livelihoods.

SUSTAINABILITY AS A CORE VALUE:

Luxury Ayurvedic beauty brands not only prioritize delivering effective results but also are committed to minimizing their environmental impact. UMA even pays attention to the smallest details, such as the labels on their glass jars. These labels are applied by hand using a non-toxic adhesive, and a two-step decorating process makes them easily removable, allowing you to reuse the jars. We wanted to ensure that the packaging could be easily recycled, so we did extensive research on the recyclability of the materials used. Our brand responsibly sources its ingredients, prioritizes eco-friendly packaging, and supports fair trade practices, making a positive contribution to the planet.

We at UMA  demonstrate our commitment to sustainability by using post-recycled stock for our cartons. We opted for screen-printing over an offset process to give the ink a “feathery” look and feel. We also used a spot UV printing technique to reflect quality.
