Self-care, for us, has always included the spiritual, the physical, the metaphysical, and the emotional. As Ayurveda points out, we are all wildly unique beings, facets of the greater universe around us. Which is why considering all the elements—the synergy of the mind, body, and spirit—is critical to maintaining mind-body balance and holistic vitality.
This ethos came to life when we recently gathered with our friends at Net-a-Porter at the Beverly Hills Hotel to celebrate self-care, balance, and our new two new products (which we cannot wait to unveil to you very soon). It was a full-on UMA day that brought together all that is important to us, including the healing power of touch. Our friends experienced a UMA Oils Massage, a specialty at the hotel that includes our oils applied to the Marma points to remove ama (excess toxins), encourage lymphatic drainage, and release stagnant energy. It’s a treatment that leaves you simply glowing, and offers beautiful guidance on how to give yourself an ayurvedic self-massage at home.
Our friends also received a personal Vedic Astrology consultation and reading from a renowned astrologer in the field. The reading navigated their birth charts and incorporated crystals and metals to enhance the positive in one’s lift, ease the negative, and offer clarity for the future.
It was, to say the least, the embodiment of what we believe in: Self-care is personal, intimate, on-going journey for us all.
